On Friday March 17th, at the early hour of 7am, the TLA Managers Forum met to discuss the impact of disruptive new technologies like Big Data and the Internet of Things (IoT) on cybersecurity standards and regulations. The TLA Managers Forum is a subgroup of the Tech Leaders Association, one of the largest networking groups in the Chicago Area. The TLA Managers Forum meets monthly to learn about and discuss timely topics with subject matter experts.

Glenn Kapetansky, Chief Security Officer for Trexin Consulting, led this month’s lively discussion—learning some basics about Big Data and IoT, the cybersecurity challenges that come with them, and how they fundamentally disrupt current regulations and compliance. During the discussion, Glenn shared a number of tips with attendees on what they can do to educate and protect themselves and their businesses.
