ChicagoCISO ORBIE Leadership Reception

On December 4th, Glenn Kapetansky, Anna-Kate Cole, and Laurel Wirkus attended the ChicagoCISO ORBIE Leadership Reception at Wrigley Field, where Glenn was recognized as a nominee for the 2024 Chicago CISO ORBIE Awards.
The trio networked with fellow cybersecurity professionals and other nominees before a brief program, which included comments from Matt Morton of the University of Chicago and Les McCollum, II of UChicago Medicine, who spoke of the importance of discussions and collaborations because “the answer is in the room”.
The evening also included a panel discussion led by Angela C. Williams from UL Solutions, featuring Sara Schmidt, SVP and CISO at US Foods and Robert Allen, CISO at Gallagher. The panel discussed their paths to becoming CISOs, building a cybersecurity plan that works for your organization, and what needs to be accomplished immediately to gain the confidence of an organization. The evening concluded with further networking and lively discussions.
