Chicago CISO of the Year Mixer

Chicago, IL

Like so many other organizations, the Chicago CISO of the Year Committee considered cancelling the event-heavy program in 2020 due to the pandemic. But when we considered that we were honoring a profession that includes disaster recovery, business continuity, and service resilience, how could we not exhibit those same skills for our program? And considering how CISOs this year were called upon to lead the stabilization of their businesses, how could we not honor them? Then a funny thing happened, as we launched the 2020 program as a virtual venue: our roundtable events became more insightful and enriching! On September 22nd, Trexin’s Chief Security Officer and Technology Capability Lead, Glenn Kapetansky, joined 35 senior cybersecurity practitioners for the third and final interview roundtable of the 2020 CISO of the Year nominees:

1. Paige H. Adams – Group CISO, Zurich
2. John Colburn – Sr. Dir. of IT, Sprout Social
3. Rajesh David – CISO at Rush System for Health MBA, Kellogg School of Management
4. Walter Lefmann – Director of Security, CTO
5. Alan Mitchell – Global CISO, Brunswick
6. Mark Morrison – SVP, CSO, The Options Clearing Corporation
7. James Pardonek – CISO, Loyola University Chicago
8. Nicholas Percoco – CSO, Kraken
9. Stephenie Southard – VP, CISO, Baxter Credit Union

Nominees shared their insights and experiences with a number of tough questions about adding value, board communications, diversity, and Cloud adoption.
