JON WADDELL
Jon Waddell is a technologist and executive with extensive experience across multiple industries and technology disciplines with 18 years of experience. He has worked with startup organizations and established Fortune 500 companies bringing strong leadership and vision skills to both. Jon’s core skill is to work together with his customer and solve whatever challenge lies before them. His architecture expertise includes both existing platforms such as mainframe, client/server, Internet and integration architectures, as well leading efforts to incorporate the latest Enterprise Architecture, Service Oriented Architecture and Workflow technologies to solve today’s business challenges.
PROFESSIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
At Trexin, Jon provides interim IT executive services and has led IT Strategy and Architecture Planning for a major manufacturing and insurance companies. Prior to co-founding Trexin, Jon was Perficient’s Chief Technologist leading project delivery and technology thought leadership on a national basis. His direct responsibilities included national responsibility for Architecture and Integration Services, Enterprise Architecture, and vendor relationship management. Jon represented Perficient on the Web Services Security Subcommittee of the OASIS standards group.
Jon has extensive experience at company startup activities, technology architecture and major project turn-around situations. In 1996 Jon started Javelin Solutions. Jon started this organization with 4 partners and grew to peak yearly revenue of 12 million dollars. In 2002, Javelin Solutions was sold to Perficient. Jon successfully over saw the merger of the companies, and established Perficient’s integration practice with direct relationships with Tibco.
Since 1989, Jon has been involved with the design and development of large-scale systems, building composite applications on service oriented architectures. Jon has extensive skills in developing enterprise level technical architectures and organizational strategies utilizing leading edge technologies while leveraging the enterprise’s existing IT assets. Jon’s skills include infrastructure, data, and middleware architecture design and implementation. While engaged with the client, Jon envisions and deploys flexible, long-term architectures that are capable of adhering to changing business strategies.
Jon has an intimate business understanding in many industries including insurance, financial services, agribusiness, travel, and retail. Jon’s career began at the Principal Financial group in the Property and Casualty area developing a new custom billing system. He is fluent in soft commodities and agriculture where he has held numerous positions guiding the technical architectures and integration strategies of online grain and food exchanges, as well as a large-scale grain origination and management system.
Jon’s most recent experiences have involved the study of people, processes and tools relating to enterprise application architecture, integration strategies and interactions with external business partners. His involvement spans gathering measurable criteria to designing and conducting development of corporate enterprise architecture as well as business operations multiple major insurance companies
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Mr. Waddell graduated from Wartburg College, Waverly, Iowa, with a Liberal Arts Degree with a Major in Business Management, MIS, and a minor in Computer Science.
