Rick Mercier is a technologist and executive with experience in multiple industries and technologies. Mr. Mercier provides to his clients: interim IT executive services, enterprise architecture expertise, and solutions architecture/delivery and systems integration. He has expertise in architecture and delivery of large scale systems on multiple platforms including mainframes, electronic commerce, operational management systems, client/server, and internet. Rick’s background provides him with the ability to help organizations create reliable and performing business systems.

PROFESSIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
Rick has a background of over 20 years experience in professional services for many clients and industries. Rick’s most recent experiences were an ERP and project turn-around project for a leading global supplier of wire and cable, fasteners and security products. Rick’s focus was primarily on systems integration and quality assurance.
Rick provided enterprise architecture, data archicatecture, and IT planning expertise to the Property & Casualty business of a Fortune 500 insurance company. Rick’s expertise in multiple architecture disciplines helped the client plan, execute and deliver next generation systems requiring multi-year phased deployments and integrations.
Rick was chief architect for development of a security solution providing entitlement based services to multiple simultaneous platforms and technologies. The solution provided application authorization capabilities to multiple platforms and technologies utilizing a DB2/zOS rules and authorizations engine. Security authorizations were designed to be shareable across the different platforms for distributed transactions.
Rick provided interim CIO services for a financial services firm providing Stored Value Card services to banks, corporations and their customers. He was hired by the Board of Directors to performance enhance the company’s platform to ensure successful holiday season availability and reliability. After a successful holiday season, Rick continued on to drive the company to profitability by concentrating on selling the platform to off-shore corporate entities providing Stored Value Card capabilities over seas; moving the platform to a state-of-art data center; and eventually merging the company with another financial services firm to enhance and increase their value-add capabilities.
Rick was also engaged as an Independent Technology Auditor for a brokerage trading company for the purposes of establishing an independent analysis for perspective investors. The trading company has built a custom trading platform for automating many trades in various over-seas markets. Responsibilities included: assessment of staff, processes, controls, and platform; recommendations for improvements; development of risk mitigation plans around gaps in safety controls built within the platform.
Rick’s earlier experiences in various industries and technologies allowed him to hone his technical and business capabilities in the areas of enterprise architecture, data architecture, systems integration, application architecture and development, and infrastructure.
